Maeva, Welcome

To The TahitiPetey Foundation Web Site!

Peter Ortmann
"TahitiPetey"

My name is Peter "TahitiPetey" Ortmann, Founder and President of the TahitiPetey® Foundation, a private, mostly family funded non-profit Society based in British Columbia, Canada.

My wife, Corrin, and I have gone through many unbelievable life challenges the past eight years as we worked tirelessly to launch and fund our many Foundation programs.

Despite these challenges we remain more determined today than ever to build a powerful new voice for our oceans in an effort to reverse the damaging trends that are killing millions of fishes and sea birds annually.

Over the past several years we have grown disgusted with the way many people view the oceans and the impact that our use of one-time use, convenience-based plastic products has on our oceans, marine life or even the impact on our own health. We aim to change these views.

In January 2010, the Foundation sold off some of its proposed business ventures, and partners with a new group to further redesign our former StarFish Organization. By June 2010 we will reintroduce the StarFish social site and our SandDollar$ Rewards Program.

The best part is that we will receive 20% of all monthly membership dues to help fund our Clear Blue Oceans initiative, the Marissa's Reef project, and funding to begin building our AngelFish International organization, our three primary objectives as we move forward.

Our web site explains these programs in more detail, but to better understand just how much we have damaged our oceans over the past 50 years, please watch the short video below featuring Dr. Sylvia Earle, a well-respected marine scientist as she shares some truly unbelievable facts you need to know!

As Ms. Earle says in the video, "NO Blue, No Green" and we certainly agree. It is up to all of us to collectively make the word BLUE as powerful and important as the word Green is today. Not just through eco-statements and words, but by becoming a more sustainable ourselves.

We can no longer keep our heads in the sand and ignore our oceans, their importance or pending Climate Change impact on our lives . We MUST become more aware and address the problems we face.

To help fund our programs please consider purchasing an e-book copy of my book Tragic Satisfaction or a logo branded product in our online PeteyStore. We are not a charity, so your purchases are not tax deductable, but it will help us acomplish our goals.

Working Together we can and will accomplish our goals.

Cordially,

TahitiPetey
